I am currently using FR 3.14 (with D6 Pro, IBO 4.5A? - not sure
about the exact IBO release I have my own bits in there) with
no apparent problems.

Because I have a few bits of my own code installed, even in the
FR library, I tend not to upgrade with every release.

Have you been using 3.14 or previous versions successfully? If
so then perhaps a compare for FR source changes may reveal the
problem. Or perhaps debug will reveal the call stack and show
where to look.
