Daniel,
I do invoices on QuickReport... what design is there that you can't do with
QR (been using it for 5 years and there seems nothing I can't do) - just
interested

Hi,
layout, then FastReport, ReportBuilder and Rave would be your primary
choices. Reading what Toni mentioned about Rave, seems almost my
conclusions about it, and I wasn't able to make the visual interface
work in runtime. I'm currently looking for another reporting tool,
since the one that we are currently using (QuickReports with QR Design
as front-end editor) can only do banded reports. And, one of our
customers wants a certain layout for their invoices that is not
possible for banded reports. Since we are already using a query
designer, with QR Designer, that our users are used, it is mandatory
that the reporting tool supports the ability to use a 3rd party query
designer. ReportBuilder doesn't seem to support a 3rd party query
designer(unless someone can prove me wrong), but it has it's own query
wizard and data dictionary. So, our final decision seems to be
FastReport, since in the source code it shows that there a support for
3rd party query designers, even though I would have to implement the
code for our query designer.
BTW, both FastReport(www.fast-report.com) and
ReportBuilder(www.digital-metaphors.com) have support for IBO native
components.
So, if you don't intend to use a 3rd party query designer, then
download the trial versions and give them a try yourself.
The price might be another factor in your decision, depending on your
budget.
