I got it working, but I don't know why it works now and didn't work
before. (To note, I have a CodeSite which allows me to capture the
published properties of an object and compare 2 different objects so
I am quite sure that what follows is accurate). I deleted the FK
field from the dataset and then added it back in. There were no
differcen in property values (beside it now being capitalized). It
then worked just fine. (And I did change it back to mixed case and it
works just fine).

I have a demo that reproduces it and shows the fix if anyone is
interested.
