cut, and other functions patched into Windows 3.1 still work
to some extent in XP, even though they are not now the
recomended way of doing things, and some of them now do the
wrong thing. MS seem to have a habit of changing the rules
with every major release, then we are supposed to re-write
the user manual. I'ts just normal development practice for
windows programs <bg> Unix/Linux is much more predictable!
