Environment -
D6 SP2 / FB1.0 / IBO4.Gc IBO_SQL.EXE dated 23 March 2002
I am struggling with the extraction of metadata from an existing IB
database.
As far as I can see IBO_SQL.EXE cannot cope with "external tables".
In my particular case their are 2 external tables and IBO_SQL DDL
gives me
CREATE TABLE EXTERNALTRANS
EXTERNAL FILE 'D:\JOBS\CRJOBSV2\EXTTRANS.TXT' (
CREATE TABLE EXTERNALWIP
EXTERNAL FILE 'D:\JOBS\CRJOBSV2\EXTWIP.TXT' (
and nothing more in relation to these tables.
IBConsole against the same database gives me something like
CREATE TABLE "EXTERNALTRANS"
EXTERNAL FILE 'D:\JOBS\CRJOBSV2\EXTTRANS.TXT'
(
"TRANS_ID" CHAR(8),
"JOB_NUM" CHAR(6),
.............................> cut
"EXEC_ID" CHAR(2),
"NEWLINE" CHAR(2)
);
/* Table: EXTERNALWIP, Owner: SYSDBA */
CREATE TABLE "EXTERNALWIP"
EXTERNAL FILE 'D:\JOBS\CRJOBSV2\EXTWIP.TXT'
(
"JOB_NUM" CHAR(6),
.............................> cut
"NEWLINE" CHAR(2)
);
which make sense to me..
Sorry if this is already well known but I haven't yet found anything
on this
