It has been introduced into the IBO source code. In fact, I did it the very
day I received an email from you and then replied with a thank-you. Perhaps
you passed that off. I just have other things I am ironing out to get
another sub-release out the door.

We need to keep in mind that the Firebird team will need to restore it the
way it was in order to maintain compatibility with the many, many IBO
applications that exist. Backwards compatibility is something I believe they
would want to preserve as much as possible and I see no reason that this
NEEDS to now be the way it is. I'm sure it was just an oversight on
someone's part. After well over 5 years I image they will want to be
compatible with them without requiring them to upgrade to the latest of IBO
and recompile all of their applications.

What's a pity is that you, me or someone else didn't let the Firebird people
know before they have now gone to all the hassle of making the official
Firebird release 1.0. This is a shame on all of us type of issue.
