Well if it does interest many of you I could get on with it, my goal was to be able to retreive more than one group and store it in ClientDataset files so that they be easily searchable offline, I though of using IB but maybe not everyone who would use it have access to it.

As far as I can remember, the guy who uploaded the DB my (uploaded) program uses did get the messages from a ordinary newsgroup server that mirrors this list at Yahoo. I think he used ordinary software (like Outlook, that I don't use) and readapted the output to put it into IB stuff.
Unfortunalty, in many messages date/time and thread info were missing.
It's not a very good program, and the database is far from perfect, but having so many messages a click away is really very helpfull many times.
If you can get a good database info let me know, we could try a better "list search" solution for the IBO community.
