This sounds very similar to something I was working on recently with
Hie Joen, there are some issues involved with this arrangement.

I have a working demonstration application from Hie Joen that was the
result of our work on this issue. I have been meaning to get around
to adding comments to the code and then making it available.

Eric, if you like I can send this demo to you - it may reveal how you
need to setup your own lookups.
