Well, I?m surprised you aren't actually having a lot of troubles with IBO and resources in Win98. Ibo, since I don't recall what version, eats resources on Win98, so much that I had to migrate all my customers upon Win2000. I mitigated that problem with some patches, but, since I then went to Win2000, I did not followed this problem anymore, and Jason does not have Win98 to test.
If you look at some of my previous patches upon this argument, you find my (they told me "successful") suggestion about eliminate the problem, extending to all IB_UpdateBar code my patches. I don't know if Jason will include them in IBO official, or he thinks that Win98 is dead (and, as programmer, it's death would be really a good thing, belive me).
So, if you actually don't have problems with Win98, you sould not have if you run Win2000 on your pc. It would be good to test if running a IBO program on a Win98 pc is different if the program has been compiled under Win98 or Win2000 (that should be!).
I was lucky because my program is the main program my customers will run (the central program for their activity, not an utility or a minor program), so I could dictate the OS to (re)install. You could be not so lucky, but in any case Win2000 is a must today, so try to convince them.
If your program can be compiled without installing components other than VCL and IBO, you can privately send it to me zipped (if not too big) and I will compile under Win2000 SP2, D6pro UP2, Ibo 4.2Ia (a little modified with my last patches not already included in IBO official, butnot affecting resources), FastReport 2.46 and send back to you, if you want.
