Possibly. Do you need the ability for locate to automatically match
the ordering field right now? (The problem does not happen if you tie
the locate to a particular field.) Its just that I am short on time
and dont want to chase down anything that is not essential.

In one of my apps I setup the locate edit next to a combo control that
I fill with the available fields. So the user then actually selects
which field they are searching - rather than explain to them about
reordering the dataset. Just a thought.
