Subject List Etiquette question

I am a little new to this kind of a mailing list.
I have a question on Etiquette.

When I get a reply
1. Should I say thanks on the list
2. Say thanks off the list
3. Not say anything.

Obviously I am truly grateful to everybody who helps me on this list.
On Such a high volume list I find it very irritating to have to delete lots of mails saying thanks.

Could somebody please advise me on this.
