I figured it out . . when I deleted the old components before uninstalling
everything, they were 'hidden' and after installing the new ones I had to go
back to environment options/palette, and choose 'all' and unhide them. Now
they are all there. Should I have simply skipped that step to begin with?
I wasn't sure if 'remove all the old stuff' applied to the palette or not.
Anyway, it's all good now, and I'm only a little crazier. Thanks.
