It doesn't on my system. I have IBX installed.

object IBODatabase1: TIBODatabase
Params.Strings = (
'PATH=e:\ibo\testdb\test.gdb'
'USER NAME=SYSDBA')
Left = 56

end
object IBOQuery1: TIBOQuery
Params = <>
Active = True
DatabaseName = 'e:\ibo\testdb\test.gdb'
IB_Connection = IBODatabase1
RecordCountAccurate = True
SQL.Strings = (
'select * from members')
Left = 136
Top = 40
object IBOQuery1NAMECODE: TStringField
FieldName = 'NAMECODE'
Required = True
Size = 15
end
object IBOQuery1FIRSTNAME: TStringField

end
object IBOQuery1GMTOFFSET: TStringField

Size = 3
end
object IBOQuery1STATUS: TStringField
FieldName = 'STATUS'
Size = 10
end
object IBOQuery1ICQ: TStringField
FieldName = 'ICQ'
Size = 10
end
object IBOQuery1URL: TStringField
FieldName = 'URL'
Size = 75
end
object IBOQuery1HOMEPHONE: TStringField
FieldName = 'HOMEPHONE'
Size = 18
end
object IBOQuery1WORKPHONE: TStringField
FieldName = 'WORKPHONE'
Size = 18
end
object IBOQuery1SPECIALSKILLS: TBlobField
FieldName = 'SPECIALSKILLS'
BlobType = ftBlob
Size = 8
end
object IBOQuery1UPDATEDBY: TStringField
FieldName = 'UPDATEDBY'

end
object IBOQuery1LASTUPDATE: TDateTimeField

end

All I can think is that you originally set your datasets up as IBQuery by mistake.
