I cant see anything wrong with what you posted. Try setting up the
SQLMonitor to see if anything is happening when you select the
DATE_BIRTH sort.

Is there anything odd about the DATE_BIRTH field besides being a date
column (readonly, computed, calculated etc)?

What version of IBO, Delphi and IB?
