but why don't you subscribe with your normal e-mail adress and receive the
mails offline?
This should be the purpose of a mailing-list or not?

groups.yahoo.com/myprefs will give you the opportunity to enter a
subscription adress, and the default-email-preference should be set to
receive messages.

I would die reading all posts online without the threading-capabilities
outlook offers.
