Using a TIBOQuery, how can I change the 'DisplayFormat' property of a unique Field?

I tried to change it on TIBOQuery.InternalDataSet.Field[xx].DisplayFormat but changes are visible only when I close & reopen the Query (a simple refresh won't help).

Is there any way to do this?
