switched to IBOjects then, none of my sites would be using
Interbase now. BDE just did not work, and IBX was a joke as
a replacement.
If you are happy with IBX now, OK. I will not waste my time
even trying to switch back. IBO does more than I want and
with Firebird the only Borland sfuff I have to contend with
is Builder 5 and I know where the bugs are there so I just
avoid them.
I'd rather give Jason money than continue poring it down the
Borland Black Hole - that includes the time wasted trying to
get there 'free' stuff actually working.
p.s. Firebird has already added facilities that are not
available in Interbase and they further improve my
performance, so I am now tied to Firebird. It will be nice
to see if IBX will recognize these differences, but it won't
bother me.
