Jason,
My view would be that Firebird would stay consistenet with Interbase and if
there are changes in Interbase, they would be emulated in Firebird. I think that
it might be possible for Firebird to add features that are not in Interbase, but
that it is unlikely that there will be anything added to Interbase that will not
be added to Firebird also.
Anything else doesn't make sense.
