That is of course, all as a matter of opinion :-)

Some of us do use quoted identifiers because we like them. Like many
things it is a matter of taste. I dont mind the extra typing involved
to have various other aspects work as I want. In doing this we must
realise that there have been various bugs in IB/FB in regard to quoted
identifiers, bugs that are gradually being found and resolved.

I believe that some of those bugs existed with plans but you can check
the firebird site for details.
