I don't remember that arrays can't work with IB6/FB and employee.gdb. The
current setup that creates such db delivers a dialect 1 db. I want to
produce a dialect 3 db. What I fixed is a couple of weeks ago in the known
"embedded blanks syndrome" where several (and I say SEVERAL) places of the
engine weren't prepared to deal with dialect 3 names sporting embedded
blanks. I estimate that I've fixed 30-40 of those occurrences already. The
public API for blobs was affected by the same issue, too.

But this is different than Geoff crashing IBO due to supposed trash received
from the server. This is new to me.

If Geoff can submit a support request to Jason, then Jason can submit a
support request to IBPhoenix, then IBPhoenix can submit a support request to
Firebird.
