Ownership of software!
Jason may keep his head down on as I know he has had private
correspondence on the matter of IBExpert and Quickdesk, and was happy
that there was no direct piracy.
Personally I would like to see this resolved, but knowing how complex
some of the parts of this type of program are, I can not believe that
IBExpert has been produced by someone other than a main author. The lack
of a similar update path to Quickdesk would seem to support this so if
they have such a strong case, why are they not doing something in law,
or better still using their suggested superior knowledge of the product
to match IBExpert, especially if there are four of them working on it.
Unfortunately the waters have been muddied, so neither product will
probably achieve its full potential, however the suggestion of a perhaps
clean re-write of IBExpert on top of IBObjects could be a solution.
