Forget it - The order had changed on initialising some of the other
stuff, and the connection was trying to auto-connect before it had had
the path changed.

It worked fine on the development system as the hard coded server
existed, only complaining on the test system. I had not put the stuff in
a data module but I will return to that as it ensures that the data
stuff is all in place before the visual form opens!
