Jason,
I've been an avid user of IBObjects since June 2000. At that time when we
chose to migrate the application we sell from Paradox to Interbase, I
looked at the different packages that existed. And, I honestly have to say
IBO was the first one that didn't give me any headaches for the migration
and ease of use compared to IBX.
I've looked at the review that Robert Leahey did on IB Objects 3.4b in the
October 2000 issue of Delphi Informant and found it very to the point and
in conclusion he strongly suggests it for Interbase development. You might
want to ask him if he would like to do one on IB Objects 4.0 when it's
out(unfortunately I don't have the time to do one).
Maybe, if you send Delphi Informant a press release for version 3.6C to be
placed in the "Delphi Tools" section of the magazine and continue with each
major release especially version 4.0, you "might" be suprised be the
response. I know that is the first part of Delphi Informant that I read to
see what's new. There might be something similar in The Delphi Magazine(I
can't tell you because I'm not a subscriber).
IB Objects is the best AFAIK. Keep up the excellent work. The
optimization of the code that you are doing is remarkable. The changes are
noticeable in application that I'm working on. My colleague that does the
testing is quite impressed in the difference in speed. He asked me what I
did for it to be quicker and my reply was upgraded IB Objects to the latest
version. Again, keep up the good work.
Happy New Year and have a nice day!
