I second your concern, Tobias. In my profile at Egroups, I have
OPTION = Send me plain text email

However, when someone uses HTML to create the original msg, I get HTML email
anyway. And I'm annoyed by HTML ads and HTML email in general.

What I did was to tell my email reader to disable anything other than static
HTML when viewing HTML emails, so the dynamic ads and images that require a
connection to an Internet server, simply don't load.
