Depends on if you want to take full manual control or simply attempt to
prepare various statements right upon connect time to see if any error occur
and if errors do occur you can simply close the connection and prevent it
from being used.

This is something that you will have to build into your application.

Are you very familiar with how InterBase handles permissions? I'd like to
recommend that you get very familiar with them if you haven't yet.
