Sure. Defaults are a part of domains or a field defnitions. Even MS
recognizes that defaults alone (kind of C's #define) exist still for
backwards compatibility. IB is the standard way. Also, think that MsSql
doesn't have CREATE DOMAIN, but it needs a system procedure to add an UDDT.

Can you explain what's the bug, please? Or at least if there's some hidden
link to know something about it. As I understand, the fix doesn't exist yet
as a binary release. Maybe it was discovered in firebird.
