Got this fixed on one machine, but still trouble on another machine. This is
again a XP laptop with a stand-alone (no client server setup) database.
The problem here is that the installer process is stopped too quickly after
the Guardian and service are disabled, so I don't get the time to correct it
manually.
This is the part of the install log that shows where it is going wrong and
maybe somebody has an idea how this
can be solved.

OK, I think this is fixed now. The installer disabled the Guardian and the
service and from that state they couldn't be started.
The solution was simply to alter the disabled state manually to automatic
for the Guardian and manual for the service and it
has now gone through the script fine.

Not sure this is the right forum, but have a problem with an install program
that installs Firebird 1.5 and converts an Interbase 5.6 database.
This is a local install, so a non-server PC and Interbase is running fine on
that. It is a plain Win XP machine.
The problem appears when it has to re-start the Interbase service:

Not sure if this is caused by the same problem that trips up the installer,
but it seems it is.
Any idea what the problem could be here?
