Dear Tony,
over the network. It may exist, but I don't think I've ever seen such a
beast.
CopyCat does of course work over a network, but it is only a replicator,
and therefore, doesn't synchronize the meta-data. The same goes for most
(if not all) replicators. On the other hand, I know of at least one tool
(by CleverComponents) for synchronizing meta-data, but, IIRC, it doesn't
synchronize data, i.e. it's not a replicator at all...
CopyCat does have the advantage of being a component set rather than a
ready-made tool, which means that it's a lot more extensible, so perhaps
you could perform meta-data synchronization yourself while using CopyCat
as a backbone for replication. Or else perhaps it could be combined with
the components from CleverComponents.
I'm not sure exactly what your options are, as I've not looked into this
in depth, but perhaps this will at least give you something to consider.
