Just a simple question - does your client system know that it should look "compaq-proliant' under address 192.168.1.125?
Try to replace name with IP address and see if client connects

You are mixing up access to a remote database (only fbclient.dll
needed) and the Embedded Firebird server (fbembed.dll, renamed to
fbclient.dll).
