Win 7? What's the path of the installation?
It is %PROGRAM FILES% or %PROGRAM FILES (x86)%?

Some few posts earlier Sean mentioned that the current installers aren't
win7+ compliant

Post toppic is Firebird 2.5 under Windows 8 64bit.

Reason is: There are some Folders under a kind of 'system protection',
such as those mentioned afore. And no, turning of UAC is not an option.

So what if you uninstall FB on the server and reinstall it to c:\firebird?
