quite what you mean here ('browse there"). Put FR and the embed lib in the same directory. FR will then load fbembed.dll and connect to the embedded server.
I meant that I click the button with "..." next to the "Database path:" field.

This is what I have now:
- All fb files copied to my dev-dir (C:\...\NetBeansProjects\fb_test)
- I renamed fbembed.dll to FBCLIENT.DLL
- I copied "flamerobin.exe" to my dev-dir and launch that one.

when fr launch I get:

I have tried to "register server" (only option for "Home") and "create new database" and "register existing  database".
For "register existing" on the "Localhost" I get popup
