What version of FireWire are you running? The "gstat" method always works but the Mon$ tables are a fairly recent addition.
Check in your bin folder on win7 to dee if you have the gstat.exe file, or something similar.
Yes, I am a linux user, but have used FireWire on Windows in a previous life!
