There are some no-go areas for sharing files and/or folders:
%SYSTEMROOT%
%PROGRAMFILES%
%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%
%PROGRAMDATA%
%USERPROFILE%

Reason: Security and Privacy.

So it is easier to create a separate folder for databases which is out
of the security scope.
