I also wonder why Firebird need to be interested in the database?
It has been restored, so, if noone connects to it, FB does not care
about this database anymore.
The end of gbak is the final disconnect.

No, just delete it (if you still wish to do that). There is no reason to
shutdown, run scripts, etc.
