Having been spoilt by firebird-backup with cron on Linux, I've not been keeping
up with the windows options, and what I was running now just fails to even start ...
So I started with a search on firebirdsql.org ... why the f**k do we have to
have pigging google advertising and CRAP search results? Firebird was doing a
bloody good job itself in the past !!!! I can't even point my customers at it as
it stands ... we don't have access to google enabled on public services
intranets ...
Anyway I finally navigated through to ibphoenix and found where the tools list
had moved to, but it would seem that we have lost a number of packages, and even
the ones left are a little outdated? I have a later FIBS, and that is the one
that refuses to work on the latest 'version' of XP.
Is it time to port the linux cron job to windows scheduler? I just need a simple
way of keeping the last few nightly backups and mirror them to a second machine.
AH - the trick with FIBS2.0.2 would seem to be that you have to have the 'guest'
account enabled. I'd forgot to switch that on anyway but once I enabled it for
file transfer - FIBS started to work as well ...
