Hi,
I have a question on backup/restore.
Think of a firebird classic on a linux box.
-Do a backup with existing attachments
-After backup, Rename the old gdb file to something else
-Restore the backup file with the original gdb name.
Don't reboot the server or kill the existing processes(attachments).
Is it possible for the older clients to continue with the new restored file?
If yes, what can happen in the worst scenario?
If you say no, I think they did continue, so be careful to kill any existing firebird processes before restoring :)
And is there any mechanism for the clients to understand the file is changed after the initial connection, like checking for the gdb file checksum or something else?
Thank you.
