I saw that one but ignored it as tracker doesn't list 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 in the
affected versions on
http://tracker.firebirdsql.org/browse/CORE-2422 so I figured it was fixed
in 2.1.3.

Sounds like you are correct, the bug has persisted through to 2.1.4 :(
