Sean has been part of the Firebird project from the beginning and has
been involved in dozens of these discussions. I adapted the licenses
from Mozilla V2 license. It's possible that some lawyer could twist
the meaning into something that was never intended. The intentions of
the license are:

1) To protect contributors from liability
2) To insure that everyone using Firebird can get access to the source
if necessary.
3) To require that improvements to Firebird are offered back to the project.

"Apache" style licenses address only the first intention. "GPL" style
licenses also intend to encourage the spread of free software.
