After migrating a database from 2.1 to 2.5 (Windows 32 bit SS) the backup time increased from 2h 45m to 3h 35m. Similar behaviour with the same database on a Debian box 64bit CS.
Interestingly on my client (Windows 7, 64bit) the backup time of the database with 2.5 didn't increase.
The database's size is about 5GiB, has only 6 tables and 2 tables contain most of the data (several million records with a fairly large blob field each).
I really would like to know why this happens. Any idea?
