And if it's the Firebird engine after all, we all would like to know about it, so it can be fixed. But please remember that many of us have been using Fb 2.5 in all kinds of environments without major problems.

I have to say that *I* am hitting the same sorts of problems. I've had to drop
back to FB2.1 where we are using the IBO programs as well as FLAP/FWAP.
Currently I've given up on trying to check things out with Builder6 since Jason
has dropped that from the IBO support. I've laid out hard cash for the latest
RAD Studio XE but as yet I still don't have THAT working either with the
libraries I need so even compiling a 'new' version is not happening yet. I STILL
have to support W2k since the hardware attached is not even supported in XP yet
I have to handle W7 soon as well. Perhaps it IS time to simply switch to Linux -
the hardware would actually be easier to support moving over nowadays.
