Subject ODBC connection to remote database
Author Brooks Norton
Hi All,
If this is wrong list for this question, please point me in the direction of the correct one

We have an XP Pro computer with Firebird installed and the database is up and working there. I also installed the Firebird ODBC driver on the same computer and can from Access link to the tables in the Firebird database. Now I am trying to connect to it from my pc across the network. On the db computer I shared the folder the Firebird db resides in. I mapped a drive on my computer to the Firebird computer.
I downloaded the ODBC Firebird driver and installed it. I configured it identically to the one on the db computer except for using m:\db\mrt_db.fdb for the location of the db. When I select Test Connection in the ODBC driver setup I get Connection Failed.

What am I doing wrong in my setup.

Thanks,
Brooks
