I think I've seen some vague references that imply that Firebird can be
configured to write its log entries through a SysLog server, but I don't
think that's actually the case. I also know that you can access the text of
the log through the services API, but according to tracker issue
"CORE-2805", you can't delete the log file through the API, so you can't
even periodically poll it for new entries and then delete them.
The only alternative I can see would be to build a UDF that can do this (if
that's possible?), perhaps returning the current log contents as a blob
field. But depending on security configuration, that might not be possible
either.
Is there something I'm missing here, or has anyone else solved this problem
some way I haven't thought of?
