There are some known bugs that will be fixed in 2.5.1...3
releases.
So usually with such many features there could be some slowdown in some areas (security checks) or speedups in others

If you want the new features then migrate to 2.5
if you want speed benchmark your queries on both 2.5.x and 2.1.x
there could be surprises ;)
