Are the app(s) quick when Firebird is restarted, and then slow down gradually until they almost come to a halt, or is it slow due to size even after restarting Firebird? I guess it would even be interesting to learn whether things are quick shortly after restarting when only one user is connected and when 200 users are connected. There could be several reasons for things being slow, some of which are due to poor application development.

By restarting Firebird, I mean that there minimum should be a small time frame when no-one is connected.
