Whenever I switch between superserver and classic server I often have to restart my entire server computer. The reason why I am switching is because I have customers running superserver on dual core machines but superserver does not support multiple cores.
This leads me to ask if anyone knows how to install a different firebird server type without restarting the server computer?
Sometimes if Firebird is acting finicky, I will have to uninstall firebird, (using commands "instsvc stop" and "instsvc r") restart my server computer, and then install classic server ("install_classic.bat").
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm Running Firebird 2.1.3.18185 on Win servers 2003 and 2008.
