Subject Performance! SS, CS, Instances ?
Author Luiz Gustavo Sarubi Macchi (Gugui)
Hello everybody
I bought an Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.4 Ghz GNU / Linux and
4 GB Ram and HD Sata
and i´d like to focus on performance on it!
I have 4 databases
one with a 60% utilization
the others 3 = 10% of usage each

I would create two instances of Firebird, one for 60% (3050 port) and
another (3055 port) for the rest, it is possible to do so?
but nobody helped me create more than one instances here in the Forum !
and i cant find an article on the net about it !
i did the /etc/init.d/firebird instructions, but it didnt work yet !

# To run more instances of firebird:
# Copy /usr/lib64/firebird somewhere
# Copy this script under a new name
# Change at least INSTANCE and FIREBIRD below
# Edit the copied firebird.conf to change at least RemoteServicePort
# Optionally run chkconfig to autostart the new service

someone uses more than one instance on Linux?

what is the best choice Firebird SS or CS?

I´m using:
Mandriva Linux release 2010.0 (Official) for x86_64
firebird-superserver-2.1.3.18185.0-5mdv2010.0

Thank you very much
