so I think you can't go this way
why do you need a second instance ? for play, test or real need ?
if real need, I would not do it as it is describe, I'm not sure it is
relevant the way the firebird rpm was built under Mandriva

But it is interessting to find a solution
If I was you, I would build Firebird from source for the second instance
with the correct values for --prefix and --with-system-editline
--with-system-icu
