If I remember correctly, TIMESTAMP in dialect 3 is the same as DATE in dialect 1. Dialect 1 does not have anything equivalent to TIME and DATE in dialect 3.
Any particular reason you do not want to upgrade to dialect 3 (can it be any harder than upgrading from Firebird 1.5 to Firebird 2.1, the only thing I can think of is that you have to do backup/restore to upgrade dialect, you don't have to do that to upgrade from 1.5 to 2.1)?
