Greetings Michael and thanks for the reply.
The batch file I sent below was created by another developer that no longer works for us. It worked fine on the old sever, but after moving my application and firebird to a new server it no longer works. I did make sure that the paths were corrected when I moved the batch file. And because I'm trying to backup a Firebird database using GBAK although via a batch file I must admit, I thought that the firebird-support group would be the appropriate venue for this.
When I say the batch file does not work, I simply mean that GBAK does not execute and create the backup files.
So, maybe I should have approached this in another way.
How do other developer setup a nightly backup of the database that is automated and uses GBAK to do it?
If other developers use a batch file to do this and could share what they do that is what I need.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you still think this may be off topic, please let me know
Thanks,
Mike

Well, this is about cmd.exe batch files, and the involvement of Firebird
is only coincidental, which makes me presume that authoritative list
staff might consider your post off-topic.
Here's a helpful link: http://commandwindows.com/
Notably: http://commandwindows.com/batchfiles-iterating.htm
If you think this is on-topic, please provide detailed information on
how exactly your script "does not work" and this pertains to gbak.
In case you need a line continuation character, try the caret (^).
