Thanks all for that - I have been away for a short while and did not expect to have started such a thread. I have in the meeantime established that moving to FB2.1 seems a good staging post then onto 2,5 as I note some character set issues.

Meanwhile Ann- what does "it's only going to get worse" mean - the db is quite well at the moment
